Nana's Mountain House
This week's highlight was our day trip on Saturday to John and Florence's cabin in Sly Park. Harlie now knows this place as the "Mountain House". Tucked away among the towering pines, I hope that this cabin continues to be a gathering place during the summer months. The huge deck with John's homemade fire pit was the perfect place to relax and conversate, and my favorite part of the day was when Florence and I took the kids to the rec center. The shady walk through the wooded neighborhood is my kind of exercise. :-) Watching the kids play in the pool and witnessing Harlie's fascination with all things "nature", was definitely a refreshing retreat from the day to day grind.

Aside from the most beautiful pictures of actual people, that last photo is just terrfic. The silhouette of the trees with the streak of clouds at sunset. Simply gorgeous. Harlie is a lucky gal with some neato places to go and be with family. Thier cabin looks so cozy and relaxing and I agree the firepit is awesome!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun time! You are so lucky to have this place to retreat to! Harlie looks like she is having a fantastic time. Did you spend the night, or was it a day trip?
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, that pic of Harlie walking through the parking lot with her hands in her pocket is KILLING me. SO effing cute. What is it about little kids putting their hands in their pockets?
ReplyDeleteFantastic photos, Erin! How lucky you all are!
It was just a day trip, Mel. There were a couple weeks there that Harlie was boycotting bedtime. Didn't want to risk bumming the entire family out with her tantrums.
