| 20 weeks pregnant with Harlie |
And today, I look like this:
| 11 weeks pregnant with "Peanut" |
Austin was pretty surprised I think but since he has so many little kids in his family these days, he doesn't have preference for a girl or a boy...he's surrounded by them all!So Emelia finished her snack early and was flipping through a book and saw a picture of a baby with umbilical chord/in utero. She asked "what is on this baby?!"and it spurred a little convo on what babies look like when they are growing in the belly. Harlie sort of whispers "I'm going to have a new baby."And I said, will you tell Emelia, too? And Harlie puts her hands in the air (like a gym ta-da) and says pretty loudly, "My mom has one of those. I am going to have a new baby!"And I asked Emelia, "Did you hear that??? Harlie's mom has a baby in her tummy!" And Emelia says, "I already knew that! I found out at Christmas. It is going to be a girl with polka dots right here (she points to her head, like a head band)."haha funny girls.
We had our first doctor appt a couple weeks ago and Peanut looked great. We got to see the two hemispheres of the brain, the leg and arm buds, the umbilical cord and best of all the flickering heartbeat! Here's a photo of Peanut at just about 9 weeks:
I've been so tired and soooo sick this time around. I'm going to look around for a pregnancy survey to complete each week or so, because I think it will be fun to track my symptoms along the way.
I've gotta good feeling that this is the start of something beautiful. Life is a crazy wonderful adventure, I know that for sure!

I couldn't be happier for you guys! I was JUST thinking about you and wondering if you were going to sign up for another brother/sister for Harlie. You are so blessed! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteYou look fantastic erin! I love the story of harlie telling her friend. That was so sweet. My friend at just smile and blog on my side bar has a good pregnancy questionnaire she does weekly. Can't wait for all your updates!
ReplyDeleteI've been waiting for this post! :) I love the story of Harlie's announcement at daycare. How cute is it that she threw her arms in the air? Like she is just so proud! Lately, Elinor has been saying A LOT that she wants a baby sister. I have to admit, my heart kind of hurts knowing that we can't give it to her. :-( So, I have a favor to ask: can Elinor please pretty please hold Peanut sometime after he/she is born? Like, sitting down, with me right by her side? It would seriously make her world. :)
ReplyDeleteI have the rainbow dress you're wearing in pic number 2. Must be super comfy for you right now, the fabric is so stretchy and soft. You're looking just beautiful, mama. Love seeing your little baby bump! :)
I'm in love with your figure in Photo 2! That dress was made for pregnancy. You look gorgeous! I loved checking in from vacation to find these weekly updates. Great idea! I'm so nosy and this will do just fine for your dear ol' sis. My kids are so excited for their new cousin. Max wants now to be a big brother and i frankly just told him, "You couldn't handle it son." He got pretty pouty. :)
ReplyDeleteHarlie is going to be an amazing big sister and the fact that she will be four, it'll be much easier to "trust" her doing the big sister stuff. Congratulations to you guys...cute little name given to baby #2 by Scott. This is a most exciting time. I'm so glad you get to experience this pregnancy in our family with you being the only pregnant mama...with the focus of everyone on your baby like I had with Mazzy. We will just eat her/him up!! Can't wait for gender reveal!!!! :)
