Subject: Conversation with Harlie

Below is an email I received at work this afternoon from Jessica that totally brightened my day:

Harlie has been so talkative today! A few things that left me wondering....

On houses--

H: We are getting  a new house!
J: You are??
H: Yes, don't tell my daddy.

On school--

H: When I am three I am going to the nutcracker with Nana.
J: Wow! That will be fun.
H: I get to wear ballerina shoes.
J: That will look pretty.
H: I won't go to pre-school when I am three.
J: You won't??? We will miss you, if you leave.
H: When I am three I will not go to pre-school. I will go to the nutcracker. I will wear ballerina shoes. Then I will go to ballerina school.

Harlie was great at the zoo today. She loved running around and seeing the animals. She was listening to directions SO well (stay together! No jumping in puddles please!)!

** I keep trying to make it clear to Harlie that she's going to see the Nutcracker when she's five...but she's not listening.

** No, we're not moving soon. Scott mentioned to her the other day that someday we'll have a new house.

  2. That girl...I love having our private little chats in the car the times I've picked her up from preschool. She makes me smile she is so cute the way she says stuff. Half the time I feel like she's just randomly spouting out answers. Like I asked what she did that day and what she had for lunch. "Had spaghetti with Mazzy and Max. " She's so awesome. Love her. And how adorable will she be at 5 when she sees the nutcracker? She'll be all dressed up and waiting at the door for Florence to take her to the ballet. Sweet.

  3. Again, Jessica is so awesome! How fun to receive emails like this during the day...a welcome break to the daily grind, I'm sure!

I love this age, when their personalities and language are exploding at such a rapid pace. So much fun! Harlie is quite the character. No wonder Elinor loves her so much! :)
