All About Austin - 16th Birthday Edition

Showing off the medal he won at his XC meet on Friday

E:  What would you do with $100 dollars?

A:  Depends on what's out there, but lets go with I'd probably save it,  unless there was a game I was desperate to buy?

E:  If you could go anywhere in the world to visit, where would you go?

A:  A Ferrari dealership in Italy or Florida to see my grandparents.

E:  What is one new thing you would like to try this year?

A:  Get a job.

E:  What is one memory you have from this summer?

A:  When I went to Sunsplash with Julie.

E:  What is your favorite food?

A:  Steakhouse Burger at Carl's Jr.

E:  What is your favorite song?

A:  Panama by Van Halen.  I remember the first time I heard it...when I got the game Gran Tursimo 4 and it played to the intro of the game.

E:  What is your favorite color?

A:  Can I put I don't know? Cause I don't really have a favorite color.

E:  What is your favorite movie?

A:  Hmmm, this is gonna be a tough one....the Star Wars Saga.

E:  Who is your best friend?

A:  Ah Crap.  I don't know if I can decide between Rubin and Truman.

E:  What is your favorite thing to do?

A:  Go to RPM.

E:  What is the coolest thing you've done all year?

A:  When I went to the Maserati dealership with my mom.

  1. Oh, Erin! I love this idea of prompting kids with a list of questions...maybe the same list over time would be fun. I so enjoyed looking forward to the next question!! Really fun to read! :)

So, did he get a helmet, too!?

  2. I LOVE this! I have so many questions!
    1) Did you come up with this list of questions on your own?
    2) Do you do this every year or is this the first time?
    3) Did you verbally interview Austin, or did he fill out a questionnaire?
    4) OMG, can you believe you have a freaking 16-YEAR-OLD?! I mean, what?!

Also: Van Halen and Star Wars? The boy's got gooood taste! :)

  3. Keri--OMG a helmet! I don't think he got a new one. I didn't even think about that which is crazy since we just talked about me freakin' out on him about it a few years ago. Is it because he now looks like a freakin' adult??? Great, now I'm stressed.

Ali, I got the idea to do this with Austin after Harlie came home with her All About Me project from Daycare. I'll probably use this one on my own for both kids each year, maybe adding questions if I want, but keeping the basic ones we have now, to compare. Some of the questions I got from googling "About Me" classroom surveys and I made up some of the questions. They're pretty generic...but I was lucky to have him agree to do the interview, it's a good thing I kept it light. :-) Yeah I read them aloud and he answered. He thought it was funny that I wrote down his answers verbatim...but I like it because it will help me remember more how he was, years down the road.
