Grandparent's Day

In honor of Grandparent's day, my grandma's apartment complex, The Chateau on Capitol put on a western themed celebration complete with live music, WANTED posters and complimentary peanuts and root beer floats.  Keri and I decided to take Harlie and Mazzy to the party and leave the boys at home so we could have a little girl time with Great-Grandma.

I love ya Grandma...you're the best there ever was!

  1. What a lovely afternoon that was. The girls were beyond adorable with the singer dude and I think it tickled grandma. I miss grandma in so many ways and think of how much she was there for us in all our growing up/college years. I'm sorry to say that i don't visit or call her NEARLY enough. I need that to change. I love her so much, that lady. Great photos, E. You captured the spirit of that day.

  2. Great post Erin! You are a goddess in that photo with your grandma. So so pretty. Did she hurt her thumb? :( I'm so happy that she loves her community and living situation there. I love seeing midtown out the window, the classy decor of the gathering room. How did she find such a great place to live? I love seeing this part of your life, with both you and Keri living with her at different times I know how close you all are and I know it made Grandma Helen's day to see you and her pretty 'lil grandbabies. She looks thrilled. I remember going over to her immaculately clean house to pick one of you up in college town right? and her showing me her hummingbird garden and we sat for a while. Such a neat lady. You guys are lucky. :)

  3. Okay, after reading Mel's thoughtful comment, mine seems so trite, but I'm going to say it anyway: this is one of the cutest things I've ever seen, ever. I've always been a little envious of the close relationship you and Keri have with your grandmother and I find it so neat and special that she is now able to be a part of your children's lives. The Western theme just tickled me, I don't know why. Love the pic of Grandma Helen posing with her Wanted poster. Too cute.

  4. Thanks for the comments ladies. Grammy is one heckuva lady...so blessed to be her grandbaby.

It was her idea to put her hands up next to her wanted poster. Love it!
