A plain bagel slathered with crunchy peanut butter, bbq sauce and Sunchips. YUM, right? The concoction changes all the time...whatever condiments he can find in the fridge are fair game and the crunchier the better. I can get down with that, since, as I've mentioned before, I'm in heaven once you slap on some potato chips or Nacho Cheese Doritos onto a tuna fish or egg salad sandwich. But guys, the other day, he took a See's Candy nougat and walnut St Patricks Day "potato" that is coated in cocoa powder and doused it in worcestershire sauce and soy sauce.
The dude needs an intervention.
Harlie, on the other hand has adopted some more conventional favorite foods. Currently her favorite breakfast food is waffles and if given the chance would probably eat soup or pizza every night for dinner. She also still enjoys avocado, frozen blueberries and yogurt as much as she did as a baby. And boy does she loooooove chocolate, almost as much as I love hearing her say "chocolate."
I need more Austin concoctions...PLEASE keep 'em coming! I laughed so hard at "dude needs an intervention". He's so awesome and I love the smile he is giving the camera! I thoroughly enjoyed this post, E!! I also have to agree with you, it is pretty darn aadorable when H says chocolate....in that delicate little voice she uses. How can you deny her? :)
ReplyDeleteOkay, that bagel sounds really really satifying to me right now. I always lacked creativity as a child when it came to food, and it seems he has a knack of throwing things together. Or he's just REALLY hungry. :)I love that you captured this phase, something you may not have otherwise rememebered years from now. And Yum Harlie, soup, pizza and chocolate everyday sounds grand! She sounds like a great eater. I'm going to go bonkers if my kid only eats katsup or ranch. :)
ReplyDeleteOMG, your blog shows up on my Google Reader now!!!! You have no idea how exciting this is for me. PLEASE tell me this is a permanent change. :-)
ReplyDeleteFun post! I have to admit, the PB/BBQ/Sunchip bagel sounds pretty darn tasty, but I can NOT get down with the See's concoction. I get the whole salty/sweet thang, but...yeah. Couldn't go there. ;-)
Yay! I'm gonna catch up on all I've missed on your blog tonight after I put the kiddos to bed!! :)
I'm doing a trial and seeing if I can leave it un-password protected. If I get any creepo stranger comments, I'll have to re-set it. But the password thing is a pain I know, so we'll give it a go ( I still have google search off and the other listy searchy findy things). I totally sound like I'm an 80 year old grandma, I totally know this. :-)
ReplyDeleteI could always access your blog without entering a password, but I would always forget to do it because your posts didn't show up in my Reader. If you end up having to go back to the old way, I will understand. *sigh* ;-)
