In good hands...

Harlie had her first day of not-at-her-auntie's-house daycare today. After much internet searching and thoughtful consideration, we settled on a new in-home daycare center that the sister of my childhood friend was opening, just a few miles from our home.

Harlie has been excited to start "preschool" like her big cousin Mazzy, so to help her prepare, we took her to Target to pick out her very own backpack.

Unfortunately, my attempts to capture a photo of Harlie dressed for her big first day were thwarted by the GROUCH MONSTER that inhabits her body most weekday mornings.

In the weeks leading up to today, I was filled with anxiety, wishing and hoping and praying that she would be comfortable in her new environment and that she would not be the "wierd" one or "bad" one of all the kids.

Lucky for me, the day was a huge success...and I think this new arrangement is going to work out just fine. Fingers Crossed!

  1. Looks like Jessica has a good set up there! I'm so pleased that H's first day went so well for the sake of her and for her mama. <3 I had no doubt she'd make freinds nicely with Emeila. How fun for her to have another little girl to pal around with.

    How'd Day #2 go?

  2. Wow, I just checked out Jessica's blog! Slick operation she's got going on, I'm totally impressed! Honestly it seems more like a preschool than daycare...How awesome for you guys!

Love all the details she provides. Are things still going well? We need to catch up!

  3. Ali, we are really happy with the environment Jessica's program provides. And I love that she has a blog so I can get even more insight into Harlie's days there (And I get a tiny glimpse of her in the action, like the top of her head in the photo where they are making their tree craft. :-))There have been a few challenging days for Harlie but overall, she is doing really well there.

As yes we DO need to catch up, woman! Still waiting for a slideshow from you and Keri's love fests!
